It has been a long time.
It will be a good period to get away from everything, give my self a break not to think about any of my problems, issues and situations that are here.
Except for some special ppl who I prob be thinking about... they know who they are...lol
Well for now, farewell to Sydney and all that is good and bad about it.

Our World!!!

I haven't really been online for a few days. You know what life is like, once you're on a roll with something, all else gets pushed aside until you achieve what you have set out to do.

Now it's time to take a breath for a few hours and go again.
I'm just sitting at the USYD Computer Lab after an 8 hour long shift at work, waiting for SOMEONE to finish what they are doing so that we can go home, have dinner and rest. AH it would've been so much easier to just go home by bus!!!! No, No, it's ok... I'm not pissed off, just want to go home... /:-( Too tired... and too hungry...

EEnny whooooo, I have finally been getting back in touch with reality. A couple of people who their opinion I value greatly, have had a good talking to me and opened my eyes a little not to mention they have reminded me to see what I had ignored for a little while.

I was given "The Alchemist" by a couple of close friends 6 days ago and I finished it in one day. Very easy book to read with an amazing story line. It's easy to understand why it is such a popular book and why it has sold so many copies world wide. I would definitely recommend it to any one who is remotely interested in finding out their true calling. It had many points that I am sure every one will be able to relate to and understand and connect with. Not my favorite book, but in the top 10. I shall talk about it later when I have the brain power to think. Definitely not after eight hours of agonizing work!!!!

There are a lot of things to talk about but I need to sit and sort many things out. It is the time of the year to plan and advance forward. The last month of 2004... Full steam ahead... 2005... What's there to come? We shall only find out when it arrives, but I must take steps to ready myself...

arabian gulf Say it all you want, IT DOES NOT EXIST!!!

Nabavi All who can understand Persian/Farsi should go and listen to this. I know exactly what it is that I want to write and in the order that I want to write it... But... Nothing. It just does not come out on paper (or screen).

---------------------------------------------------------------------

Work... What can I say about work!

Whenever I speak to any of my friends, there are some standard question one of which is: How is work?
Now that is a question I dread.

Some say: "you don't need money to be happy", but you know, lets get real, you show me one poor person who is happy! I sure as hell haven't seen one yet.

My point is, we all need money and there is really one way of getting money and that is working. Hence I, like millions of others in the world have a job. I work to get money so I can pay my bills & do the things that I want.

Living is what it's all about. I work, I get money, I spend money and I work some more... The circle continues.

Does that mean I like working?
Does that mean I like doing the work I do to make a living and to get money?
I'll let you answer that from your own experience.

Ok, some times I enjoy work because it challenges me and I get to meet and talk to some interesting people but at the same time, in retail, how many interesting people are you going to meet?!

At the end of my blabber there is a point... Whenever some one asks me how is work or how was work, I just want to scream:

"WHO FUCKING CARES!"

After all work may fill about 8 hours of each day (If I was working full-time which I will be shortly), but it doesn't do anything besides provide me with money to spend on things I actually enjoy, including spending money on my soon to come trip to Iran.

It is the other 10 hours that are interesting and should be asked about. [as you can see I excluded sleep but that in itself is some times really interesting! ;-p] ---- stop imagining things, I was talking about dreams not the things you were possibly thinking about!!!.... hmmm maybe....

[Just hope no one from work reads this!!!]

---------------------------------------------------------------------

Ok, the arabian gulf, Google Bomb has gone off and are we all proud.
It shows that with a little bit of organization and motivation, not to mention a little care, such a thing can take off. It is great to see so many responses to the subject and so many activities in the effort to keep the name of "Persian Gulf" alive.

There will of course be the ones who will always argue the fact but that shows their own ignorance and lack of historical and geographical knowledge.

Thank you to all bloggers and site owners and organizers.

---------------------------------------------------------------------

arabian gulf

National Geography has used a wrong name for Persian Gulf.

While there are a number of evidences pointing to the origins of the name Persian Gulf, in recent years Persian Gulf has wrongly been referred to as arabian gulf. He was wearing raggedy cloths and was unclean and unshaven with messy hair and only one leg. He was clearly one of the forgotten people. As he was talking to the teller, I heard a part of his conversation... he told the cashier (teller) "I was sleeping in the park last night..."

This reminded me of a strange thing I saw last night as I was walking from Broadway to Seymour Centre to meet Siavash. I had just finished work and was very tired but I was walking and taking some photographs at random on my way. As I was walking past the park I heard a sound coming from the trees. I did not think much of at start, thinking it was the sound of a possum. Then I noticed something very strange. I looked up in the tree and noticed a large black piece of tarp hanging from the tree. It held the shape of a very large sack. What was strange however was the movements it was making. It was not moving as though from the heavy winds of the night but from movement within it, wavering from side to side as if the thing inside was trying to adjust itself for comfort.

That is what a city so prosperous holds within. In the dark of the night, in the alleyways and the unvisited dwells. It seems there are many of the forgotten, spat out of the underbelly of this city, so fast and so stingy to forget its own people. Forgotten, the awake in the mornings to carry on their task of breathing, eating, drinking, begging and surviving, with no goal, no hope, no thought and no future.

They truly are the forgotten

"Forgotten by the city"

"Forgotten by the people"

"Forgotten by themselves"

Yes Falluja is "LIBERATED"!

"Iraqi interim Prime Minister Iyad Allawi says 400 suspected insurgents have been arrested in Falluja.
The US military says it has killed about 1,200 militants for the loss of 38 US soldiers and 6 Iraqi government troops. There are no figures on civilian deaths." -BBC.CO.UK

Sydney's channel 10 just showed Gen. Sitting on the train a few drops of water trickle past my face. It's peak time and I'm surrounded although it is not full to the point of chocking.
So many faces, so many names, so many odour's (which anyone will notice in a packed confined space of a train carriage).

I look at the people sitting behind me through a tiny reflection in the window. They are all the same. They all have their little things, their jobs, their friends, their lives, their trains of thought, their beliefs & the things that make them tick.

But I don't get them, at least not right now. I know they could be looking at me in the same way. "What the hell is this guy doing? Who does he think he is just coz he has a camera in his hand. What the hell is he taking pictures of now any way...". All those little stupid questions that I think to myself when I see people and all those little comments that I make to myself about people.

It has always been a thing for me. To see what a person is thinking in a certain situation, at a certain time and at a specific moment. I don't mean to find out as to study it like a psychologist, to carry out tests under controlled situations or any thing, but rather to read the mind at the moment that you see someone do some thing or the moment that you see someone react to some thing. Better yet at the moment that you are walking past a person and for an instance your eyes lock, those awkward moments that you wonder what they are thinking.

I ponder this too much I think. It's 3 am and I really need to go to sleep...
Problem is I have to be really tired nowadays in order to sleep so that I don't think too much. I love thinking to myself but right now, thinking could be the end of me.

Good night...

Discombobulated

"Are you such a dreamer
To put the world to rights
I'll stay home forever
Where two and two always makes a five
I'll lay down the tracks
Sandbag and hide
January has April showers
And two and two always makes a five
It's the devil's way now
There is no way out
You can scream and you can shout
It is too late now
Because you're not there
Payin' attention
yeah I feel it, I needed attention
Payin' attention
Yeah I need it, I needed attention
I needed attention
Yeah I love it, the attention
Payin' attention
Soon oh
I try to sing along
But the music's all wrong
Cos I'm no
I'll swallow up flies?
Back and hide
But I'm not
Oh hail to the thief
But I'm not
Don't question my authority or put me in the box
Coz I'm not
Oh go up to the king, and the sky is falling in
But it's not
Maybe not"
-Radiohead, "2+2=5", Hail To The Thief (2003)

People forget, the smart ones won't forgive...

How stupid could you be and how much can you get away with?
Haven't we all seen a bit of that in recent times!

It's all a big mess. People it seems can also have their visions impaired. They are given a choice but their decisions are not theirs. Their decisions are a compilation of what they see, hear and 'feel'. They are pumped with propaganda, visions and stories and like hungry animals they swallow without chewing.

"Four legs good, Two legs better." - George Orwell (Animal Farm)

Midnight Glow

Thoughts of 8.15pm

Sitting out side University of Sydney's Fisher library, I felt like writing a few lines.

It is a cold but humid night. there are a few students here and there, talking or waiting for their ride home.

Looking at the main building, you can't tell that there's been a graduation ceremony on today. A group of students finally stepping out of this Uni. It is a beautiful night not worthy of description. It is the kind of night that for it to be understood, it has to be seen, it has to be felt, it has to be heard. It's starting to rain.

There is a mystery about this time. A certain silence which is only interrupted by a passing car or by the words spoken by a couple of Korean students across me.

Need to find a calling. Is this all it's worth? Is every thing going to be the same all the time? Same boring voices, same boring streets and same boring whispers?

Locked Up (Triple Exposure) - Navid

The beginning!

G'day,

It has been suggested to me to begin writing a series of thoughts.
For now, I will be experimenting with this space until I have a fair idea of what is going on.

Just a few thoughts however...

What is the value of life?

Where do we stand?

In today's unsettled world, unsettled by the forces of our so called 'LEADERS'...
